Bill,
I agree he said he violently disagreed with the two Democratic segregationist Senators. The point is he is tone deaf to the current world. Since they were both Democrats he made no point of bipartisanship. He really reinforced partisanship of which we now have in abundance to the point of gridlock. I believe his more serious error was in abandoning the law against using tax money to pay for abortion.
