*~My Next Collison Course~*

He moved away from the lagoon if only to see if he could find any company out among the free lands. The lagoon was growing but so far he'd only met one other stallion besides Cullen, the leader who brought him there. Collision was a herd animal by nature and he wanted to meet others and see where he could help on these islands. He still felt so new to the place. There was still so much to learn and see. He wanted to make this his home so he felt it only natural to go out and explore. The lagoon was beautiful and he was sure there was still much to be seen there, as well. He'd grown a bit lonely wandering around the herd lands so he plunged into the waters and headed back toward the commons where he might meet some new faces.

He knew as part of a herd, it was an unspoken thing that you usually invite others back to the herd to help it keep growing. He just wasn't sure if he felt comfortable yet with that since he didn't know so much about the lagoon. He knew that it was a herd of stallions which sounded perfect for him right now but whose to say others would look at it so welcoming? Maybe another stallion who felt lost or just needed friends right now as he grew and matured but others probably wanted the power of a herd with mares to breed and protect. It was in a stallion's nature, after all. He felt the pull, even now. He just fought it all the harder. He needed more time to get over the betrayal of his former best friend. Maybe it wasn't meant to be. Maybe he wasn't meant to lead a herd. In which case, a bachelor herd was perfect for him.

That didn't mean he couldn't go out and talk to others and get a better lay of the lands, though. He found himself walking onto the banks of a pretty green meadow with trees for shade and the sound of running water not so far away. Intrigued, he blew the water from his nose and shook it from his black and white coat before he trotted further inland to investigate. It wasn't so far in that he caught the scent of the mare, but more than that, he caught the scent of sadness. Ears laid back in concern, he slowed his pace to a walk so he wouldn't spook her and lowered his head to show he meant no harm. As she came into view, he took in her golden coat and the way her own head was lowered as if in defeat. It made his own heart tighten.

He was always accused of being a soft hearted stallion. Others ridiculed him for it and said it made him weak but he didn't believe that. He felt a strong connection to others is what made him a better leader, but then, maybe he was wrong about that, too. Either way, he couldn't turn from his bleeding heart as he saw the mare. Snorting softly to announce his presence, he stopped a few feet from her to give her space and tilted his head a little. "Hello, miss. I don't mean to intrude. I only wanted to see if you were okay." He spoke in a soft soothing voice, hoping she'd see that he was only here to offer company and a listening ear.
