yes my colourful Oriole pals have gone. It's a long way to the tropics.
Rather an aloof bunch I'd say. Kept to themselves always. What's with the hammock nests? Not many species do that? I wonder why.
The Robins nested just above the front door under the awning so they never got wet or bothered much by others. 3 broods of 3 that I believe all managed to make it. I've saved the nest (on a little wooden platform I made) for next year. What an architectural marvel it is.
