The strange way of the world

Warsaw had told him about Tavas and who she was going to be to him. He was confused as a young child, but he came to realize what Warsaw's twisted story meant. He was Warsaw's son, but said to be an orphan the Inlet King found one day unrelated to the King. Tavas was said to be Warsaw's daughter when in reality she wasn't born from his seed. Tavas was promised to him as a gift. The palomino filly was going to be his mate when the time came. Requiem was made a land owner under Warsaw's rule, but for months he remained alone.

He assumed there must be some kind of complication with the arrangement. Requiem noted the strong head of Tavas's mother and he figured she was the reason Tavas never came to see him. He had not met the filly, but in passing though he had watched her from afar. If he had the courage to say something back in the Inlet, he would have. He just waits for the day someone needed a place to stay. The mare Wasp had given him some company while she was here, but she was on a journey and didn't stay long.

His main concern right now was avoiding the Inlet where a special baby would be born. He wondered if the child was healthy. He wondered if he had a son or a daughter. No, the foal was not his. The child was a sacrfice he made to lesson the burden on a fellow herd mate and the foal was now in possession of his father. The child was his sibling, not his own. One day he would create his own family here, but he had no relationships to do so just yet. Creamy locks are flown back as his nose sticks to the sky.

The Bay's air was clear with the usual scent of pines and the native animals, but a faint scent of a female began to reach him. He recognized the scent and he wondered if the day had finally come when Tavas would be sent to him. Pale legs guided him closer to the forest where the Bay and the Inlet meet where brown eyes soon find her. It was only a few months between the time he had last seen her, but she looked different, older. Her figure was beginning to take a womanly shape like most mares did as they grew older. He watched the same thing happen to Solaris and Ysabel. He wonders if he looks any different to them.

"Tavas..." He says her name with a whisper as he draws closer. This situation was awkward and he wonders if she knew why she was sent here. "Are You here to stay with me in the Bay?" He asks because he is unsure if she was here to follow Warsaw's command or just to say hello. Whatever the case, he was nervous.
