Live through this lie

Was I left behind?
Tell me, tell me I survived.

The more I hang in her company, the more I'm glad I didn't steal her away from Rougaru. It seems these stallions certainly had a type - hot headed and loud. Celestria had caused enough trouble. I certainly had no interest in entertaining this mare for much longer. Another small simper of smirk crosses my lips as she proves my own point with her next comment "A stallion doesn't define me." I always wondered why mares put up with egotistical studs like Rourgaru. I'm sure there are some from my own past who might have said something similar about me, but I never imprisoned anyone. Nor did I ever force any of them to bare my children. There were no hard rules, no punishments. Just a general expectation of respect. At least, that's all I asked for.

She teases me now, about Rougaru barging in, and I snort at just how absurd her comment is. "Why would I like that?" I say, narrowing my eyes as I cock my head to one side. If I never saw the silver bay stallion again in my lifetime, it would be too soon. Plus my job was done here - he'd smell my musk on her when she returned home.

"I really don't care to know your name." I say flatly, beginning to find myself bored by her basic banter. Venom dripped from her lips, and in all honestly, I found it quite unbecoming. There was nothing desirable about her in my eyes. Perhaps that was why Rougaru hadn't put a foal in her after all. "And I don't care what you do after I leave you here, frankly. You were merely a nameless, faceless tool that unfortunately, did not go according to plan. But that's no skin off my back." I say, my ears buried in a bed of firey mane. "Please do tell Sanibel I look forward to seeing her soon."

And with that, I give the mare one last up-down look, disgust etched plainly across my features, before flicking my red tail across my rump and turning on my haunches to leave.
