Use caution when the wolf comes knocking;

To say Rougaru was angry would be the understatement of the century, he was down right pissed off. Wounds litter his coffee colored skin and despite his overall egotistical determination, he walks with a limp from the wound to his foreleg. He told himself it was not suprising that he would lose the battle over his painted viper, especially so soon after just winning the battle for the desert queen and her offspring. Still, deep down, the defeat hurt him beyond the bruises and scrapes. His painted viper was a thorn in his side, a festering wound and yet it was a wound he had come to adore as much as he would ever be able to truly adore another. Her venom and fiery spirit was his own, her dark eyes the sway of her hips, the cold sarcasm in her words, all of it echoed in every beat of his soul. Losing her, it hurt and well, he was not one to admit defeat.

Since spotting the great snake, Rougaru had taken to patrolling his small herd much more attentively. While he was fairly certain the mares were safe, he was not about to risk the lives of the foals, his or not. The time alone on patrols allowed him to think without interruption. It was true that he could simply offer back the desert queen and her foals in exchange for his painted viper, but there were too many weaknesses there. It would mean he willingly bent the knee to another and well, it would make it even more obvious of just how much her treasured the painted woman. He told himself he had been careless so far, wreckless in displaying his preference, it had put a bullseye upon her pretty little figure and clearly not just Shamwari noticed. Twin ears fall back amid the tangle of his cream and caramel colored locks as a snort of determination glittered in his eyes. No, Liland would not make him bend... he would come up with a plan of his own to get back what was rightfully his.

A commontion along the shore catches his keen ears now and instinctively the large stallion rounded on the well worn pathway that lead down to the beach. Paper thin nostrils flare as the jungle stallion inhaled the scents brought to him by the ocean breeze. There. Desert. She had come. A smug smirk played upon his lips as the built up tension in his skin evaporated and Rougaru slowed his pace to that of an ambling trot. Depthless emerald green eyes fall upon the pretty little desert mare's frame still soddened by the ocean swim. He could see why Liland held her so closely, the proud lift of her head and the determination that glimmered in her eyes even from this distance, he could not help but to feel as sense of respect for her. Despite the defeat that sent her here, she faced it with determination and willingness to rise above.

A single dial flickers as the beastly stallion halts a few feet from her, eyeing the weary damp foals that lay exhausted at her feet. Emerald green eyes gleam in the afternoon sun as the stallion offered a polite nicker, "Zjeena what a pleasure to have you grace Atlantis with your presence." he began, the sarcasm in his voice honeyed as he dipped his proud head. "In case yo missed it before, I am Rougaru, Lord of the island and leader of the Paradise herd." he states, his voice rather matter of fact now as he turns his gaze from her back to the green scene that lay just beyond the beachscape. "I believe your stay here will be rather rewarding, much better grazing here than the meager pickings you must be used to in the deserts." he adds with a condescending snort of disgust. Why anyone would want to live in the deserts was beyond him. He had taken up residence in the dunes for a time and well, needless to say he did not have any intentions of returning. The lush jungle landscape was far more to his liking.

He gives his proud head a shake, sending dirt and debri flying as he settles himself into the amiable conversation, "I have warned the other mares but seeing how you have not one but two little ones to keep an eye on its only fair I warn you too. There has been a big python spotted around these parts as of late. I doubt it would attack an adult but the foals would be easy prey if you are not vigilent. I am keeping watch but I implore you to alert me if you observe it yourself."
