Perhaps she was over reacting about his words, however; all he had had to do was sincerly apologize about them. But he refused to that means in her eyes that he meant them that way. That he believed his son weak. Despite her personality her first and utmost want and desire was to defend and protect Noctis, like most mares with foals that hormone was high with a foal at her side. Yes even defend him from words that were indeed a lie because Noctis wasn't born weak. no he was born health and strong Like a true stallion would of seen that but apparently Rougaru at the very least had never had a foal born in to him before. If she hadn't believe he had met Beowolf first she might of been able to believe that,as it were that wench probably had him a little before Noctis graced them with his presence, But Noctis would be a better stallion after all he was wanted by both parents where as Beowolf she was sure was forced upon the weak minded mare. She called her weak minded because she didn't believe in the fact Rougaru would be considered stronger then her original stallion and couldn't see that it might be off with her here.
She herself believed in the traditional sense of a herd, a lead stallion there to protect the herd while the lead mare brings the herd to new foraging areas and the watering hole of course also taking cues from the lead stallion at times. Her wounds from Rougaru did not bother her much, the snake bite however still did. At times if one did watch her gate she limped but she did her best to not show it.
Her ears goes back as Rougaru intentionally blocks her way and luckily far enough back that she has time to come to a halt. Her nostrils flare but she lets him grudgingly greet his son. She only does it for Noctis sake though not his. Just because you won that time means nothing. I doubt your strength because you doubt your sons. And then there the fact that every herd needs a lead mare. But of course you think more like a bachelor stallion then a herd stallion which means you must still be learningShe snorted. She was not afraid of him and never would be.
He does mention that she lost her chance at the ridge. He can have it, I don't think I'd want to stay on this island if I got my freedom now anyways, I was only gonna do that so you could still see your son.
