Monster wondered how the filly's mother would feel about her talking to Rayna. She wasn't exactly the most social of creatures in Liland's herd. She wasn't interested in attachments, or at least that's what she liked to tell herself. She watched carefully, gauging all the filly's reactions as she listened to Monster speak. The filly seemed rather mature for her age, thinking things through carefully before she'd reply. Monster just thought all foals babbled about whatever came to mind without thought or reason. Rayna was proving different. Maybe she was just a rarity in itself. At her sudden question whether stallions steal a lot, Monster shrugged again. "Some do. It's a way to grow your herd and send a message to enemies."

She had nothing against stealing, in particular. She knew it was just a way of life. Monster could see the filly visibly relax a little when she told her that she'd protect her. She didn't know why she said it. It just sort of came out. What was she thinking? This wasn't even her child. The filly spoke up, asking about the other mares and Monster gave a defeated sigh, shaking her head slowly. "You can't save everyone. No one can. I'm sure your mother can handle herself. And don't worry about me, sugar plum. I've dealt with Rougaru before." She smirked a little, showing off some of her bite marks that were still healing. The little filly truly seemed trouble that the herd has gotten smaller though and Monster scowled, wondering how she could reassure her.

"Herds shrink and grow. It's the way of the world. You must keep your head up and push through the worry. Don't let others see it or they'll take advantage." Maybe it wasn't her place to be giving the filly advice but she couldn't let herself not say anything. It seemed like more of a crime to stand by and let the filly worry about things out of her control. She was too young to cause such wrinkles and it wasn't worth all that. Monster certainly wasn't letting it get to her. She raised her own head as if to show the filly by example, her eyes still bright and proud.
