She could only wonder if he thought about her nearly as much as she did about him. About his blunt teeth against her skin, his smooth voice against her ears, his rough legs around her barrel. She missed all of it, but she couldn't tell him there. She hated the way he made her feel though, like she had a weakness, like somehow he'd gotten through her walls and attached himself to her like a parasite. She was supposed to be the one burrowing under his skin, not the other way around. She was supposed to be unforgettable. So why was she still with Liland? Why wasn't he fighting to make that different? Yes, she had her doubts, and she hated it. She was always showing her confidence, but he brought out some other part of her, some part she was thought was rotting inside of her, never to show its ugly face. As he leaned in to whisper to her, her skin shivered with ecstacy. The last of his words caused her to still though, her body suddenly tense as a statue. Heir? At his side? Her head snapped around, lips curling as her eyes set on his. "Oh darling, I knew your heart was mine. Did you know that mine is just as stubborn?" Her sneer widened as she waited for him to figure out that she meant he had hers as well. She wasn't just going to spell it out for him, but in a way, she did want him to know. He told her not to get too comfortable and she tilted her head, watching him. As he stepped back, she couldn't help herself so she stepped forward, matching his step. She wanted to tempt him, to make him question everything. He told her that her time was drawing to a close and she narrowed her eyes for a second before she swished her tail. "Ah, but I had a nice tree there and everything." Her eyes gleamed teasingly even as she said it. Only then did she reach out, breathing her warm air on his nose for a second as if she was about to touch it, but then she drew back and turned her haunches to him, turning to look back only once. "See you soon, lizard king." Then she launched forward, taking off back to the water and back to the place she would temporarily call home.
