Zjeena's twins are six months old. They spend increasingly less time at her flank, and increasingly more time on their own. Soon she will wean them completely, but for now she takes comfort in their occasional nursing. Zjeena has been here for a while. Summer has come and gone in Paradise. She's been taking advantage of the shade and good nutrition while nursing twins, but as time marches on she wonders about Liland. Will he ever come for her? Will she still have a place at his side if and when she returns to his herd? Does he even care?
This is a difficult time for her. With her children no longer needing her every attention, and her family away on some other island, Zjeena feels so very alone. She needs a friend. At first she distanced herself form Rougaru's herd, not wanting to get too attached because she was sure Liland would challenge for her back. She was in no condition, after birthing twins, to fight for her own freedom, but surely Liland would help her out. But time marches on and she has yet to hear any news of Liland. it's time to let go of unfounded hope and seek the companionship she needs.
Zjeena stands among the crowd. Foals play and mares chatter, but Zjeena is silent, unsure of how to make her entrance. She's been a silent fixture for so long that everyone else has gotten exceptionally good at ignoring her. She hesitates a little longer, and that is when a new face approaches. Zjeena's tiny ears prick forward and her eyes alight. She can see the same hesitation on this mare's face as she's sure is painted across her own. Slowly the awkwardness melts into a smile and Zjeena steps towards the newcomer.
