Zjeena is not the type of mare to feel sorry for herself. Life is full of unexpected twists. What matters is how you face the hardships before you. Not every hardship is just that. Some situations that begin in upset can turn out for the best. Take this situation for example. Zjeena was not happy to be lost in a challenge, traded like a pawn in a game between children. But it was nice getting out of the Desert. And as the lead mare, it is Zjeena's responsibility to represent her herd no matter where she is. This has been an excellent opportunity to form good relationships with other herd leaders. Rougaru is not a bad stallion. Were she not already invested in Liland. she would stay, willingly.
But unfortunately, Zjeena is invested in Liland, and she cannot stay. This is why she calls Rougaru to her now. Rougaru, attentive as always, is quick to answer her call. Her heart beats a rapid rhythm in her chest. Rougaru has become a friend over these last few months, and she hopes this friendship will be enough to carry them through the conversation to follow.
Zjeena returns Rougaru's friendly greeting, touching her own muzzle to his neck in welcome, but as they part, she squares her shoulders and gets right to the point. "Rougaru, I have something to ask of you, and it's a lot to ask. I know it's a lot to ask, so I'll understand if your answer is no." The mare takes a deep breath before continuing on. "Liland has won back the bay. I would like your permission to go home." She sighs, disappointment reading clear on her face. "I need to know why he hasn't tried to get me back."
Her voice trails off, getting smaller as she says the words out loud. This is a concern that's been eating her up for months, and thus far has kept it to herself. It hurts, thinking you're important to someone, and then feeling left behind. Is there a reason? Does Liland not love her? Is the bay more important than her?
The little mare shakes her head, and her ears turn back. She looks Rougaru dead in the eyes, and says with every honesty "If I don't like his answer, I will be back."
Of course there is no guarantee she will be back. Zjeena knows this. Rougaru must know this. Chances are, Liland will come up with some explanation. They will mend their relationship, and Zjeena will be lost to Rougaru. This is a lot of ask of a stallion. Zjeena is well aware. This is why she's come here today ready to bargain. You see, she is in heat, and she is willing to buy her freedom with it. Liland won't be happy with her, should it come to that, but Zjeena isn't very happy with him right now either, and this is retribution. Zjeena is neither inclined to fight with a friend. She would rather make a trade and leave Paradise on good terms. Rougaru has been a good friend and could prove to be a valuable ally. Zjeena isn't willing to give that up.
OOC: Up to you how Rougaru handles this obviously. If you want a foal from them to play, this would be a good opportunity. ;)
