When he heard the mare's call, his entire body vibrated with energy. He was growing frustrated with the small amount of mares he'd managed to cover this fall and how headstrong they were when he tried to make them come here to stay. What was so wrong with the desert? He found nothing wrong with it. It made you strong. It wasn't an easy place to live, but that was part of its charm. He had lived in dirt pens much like this for most of his life. Grazing was a rare thing for him, if only cause he'd pretty much forgotten the taste of grass. Dog food was more what he was used to but that was also a thing of the past. He would have to get his meat fix now from the horses who dared to challenge him. The humans had made him into this monster but he would thrive because of it.

He loped across the desert until he could make out the bay roan mare waiting there so patiently. So much like the other mare who had coem to throw empty threats at him before leaving. What a pity that she didn't choose to stay. He could have just killed the colt she brought along and then they would have been square. What surprises would he find with this mare, he wondered? His tail went up like a flag as he pranced his way down to her, stopping just out of reach as his ears pricked and his thick neck arched toward her. "And what can I do for you, hm? I'm Cain, leader of the Desert."
