One of the biggest sources of revenue Senator Warren relies on for her "Plans" is a "Wealth Tax". This amounts to taxing the wealth one has been able to build up over time by work, careful spending, and good investments. It has been tried in several European countries and then abandoned because of a net effect on GDP loss and job loss and difficulty in assessing value of a wide variety of possessions. In her plan she seeks to avoid the problem of the "wealth" moving abroad by imposing a 40% tax on anyone renouncing their U S citizenship. The WSJ calls it a "Financial Berlin Wall". Replies:
