Her ears pricked as Shaydowfax told her to invite others she thought would do good here when she went out. She nodded in acknowledgement. "Of course." She would do whatever she could to help out. When she asked the mare about her origins, Shaydowfax told her that she wasn't born here, but rather in an Amazon herd. Illusion's eyes widened in surprise. "You mean, like a herd of mares? I bet they're amazing creatures, living without a stallion's protection. I've heard stories of them, of taking stallions as slaves, used only for procreation then driven out like dogs. It must be empowering." She was sure Shaydowfax had some good stories from her time with them. She listened as the mare told her that she wanted a stallion around but the other mares wouldn't have it, so she left. Illusion nodded in understanding. She had nothing against stallions. There were good ones and there were bad ones, just like mares. She believed it wasn't bad to have one or two around for help with protecting a herd and yes, for breeding purposes. It was harder to grow a herd by adding members alone. "Sounds like you had an interesting background. Mine isn't nearly so colorful." She smiled. "My mother was a mare in a moderately sized herd. The lead stallion covered most of them and she raised me under his protection. I knew him as a father and a leader but there was nothing special between them. She was just loyal to him because he was loyal to her and the rest of the herd. When I got older, I decided I need something new so I left the herd and swam to the islands. I'd heard stories that there were herds here and I wanted to find out for myself."
