It had pained Persephone a little to let Evren and Shamwari go to the Inlet alone, but the problems on the Islands were mounting up fast, and they were no longer manageable by just one leader. Luthien was a team now, and they had to act like it. For Persephone, that meant letting others take the reins on some things, so that she could deal with others.

Her scouting trip to Salem had been informative, if nothing else. She did not dawdle on her return, however, eager to be ready to receive Evren when she returned, and hopefully Hannah, the mare that Warsaw had stolen away from Tarek.

Today, she was in luck.

Persephone rushed towards the sound of the call, and arrived to find Hannah and her children safe and sound, or at least still standing, from first glance. Evren was behind her, and Persephone’s dark eyes lit up with relief at the sight of her.

“Hannah, welcome home,” Persephone greeted. “Are you all alright?”
