as the light in me went dark(ANY)

Autumn had buried his head into the chest of Summer, dragging her down into a seemingly endless summer as her climax took away the last breaths of overwhelming heat and exhaustion from the atmosphere. Khar stood still on the rocky hillside as the mountain wind buffeted against her, blowing grit into her eyes and whipping the threads of her alabaster mane into a mass of dingy tangles. Not that it could get much worse; she already looked every bit the part of forsaken traveler. Dirty and disheveled. Her once beautifully dappled rosy colored coat was a little too thin and stood out a little too obviously against the lean tense muscles beneath. her glacier gaze was both shrewd and openly hostile despite the lack of intent behind it. She was irritated. Irritated with the billowing mountain zephyrs that seemed almost determined to knock her slight frame off the narrow pathway that trailed the mountain range and into the land beyond... irritated in the fact that despite her best efforts she looked more and more like a vagabond instead of the once proud beauty she had always been... and irritated that it had taken this long for her to come remotely close to contact between other equines. She did not sigh, although some forgotten part of her wanted to; she was harder than that, now, had made it so, had shut down self-pity at the same time she had shut down her own self-worth. The lithe girl of dappled moonlight forced herself to be calm, counting out each breath until they began to slow and she felt her heart unclench and the muscles beneath her taunt skin relax.

Standing there in the midst of the rocks and stone that made up the base of the mountain range that towered above, a swarm of smells filtered into her nostrils like standing inside a perfume store. There were so many, a couple of them stood out and overpowered the senses such as pine and cedar that grew in great numbers here, but most just lingered and intertwined like the scent of clover and sweet grass and rabbit and deer.

She is still now, savoring the feel of the warm autumn breeze and the sensation of the feel of the forest lands around her. She was a fine looking specimen to be sure, a sensual curve of her full hips, long lean legs, proudly arched neck supporting a pretty and regal head featuring usual ice colored eyes that could easily light with fiery passion. She flicked her silver white mane, the moonlight casting a eerie light upon her darkly dappled rose gray coat. A soft hum came from deep within her throat, sounding like a ancient lullaby. For a time, she occupied herself with the song that she could not quite remember the words to and lets the sounds of the world close in around her and surround her with a sense of peace that soothes her wandering spirit....
