He didn't notice the struggle in the mare or how she reacts to him differently than most. The Inlet herd knew his brother and himself were important beings on Tinuvel and they knew their father would rain down on anyone who tries to harm them. Ironclad takes this high authority and uses it even at such a tender age of ten months. This mare was important to Tinuvel as well and though mother didn't like her, he was determined to get the blue roan on his side. If Warsaw didn't want her to be his Queen he would step up to the task. He might not know anything about ruling a territory or protecting a herd, but he was learning. He assumes everything would come naturally in time.

Xiomara questions him and the colt responds with a flick of his tail and a smile to mirror her own. He didn't expect the mare to have a soft side after watching her defeat his father in battle, but he would roll with it. It was easier this way, but a rough and tough mare would be fine too. He tells her what he wants to say, that she could be his Queen one day. Warsaw promised him and his brother Tinuvel when they were older so he was free to name who he wanted to be Queen. Xiomara may be a lot older than he was, but from where he stood she had a lot she could teach him in protecting the Inlet.

Her words melt his heart. His grin grows wide and he nearly leaps for joy, but he attempts to keep his boyish emotions reeled in. He couldn't embarrass himself in front of his future wife. She asks his name and he responds quickly with excitement. "Ironclad. Ironclad de Warsaw." His tail of fluff swats at some invisible foe as he picks his legs up high and prances around his future Queen. "My Queen what should we do today?" He asks, stopping at her side, giggling. If the mare obliged in his games, oh he will be the happiest colt.
