She agreed with him about washing the taste out of her mouth, but she still looked thoughtful. She chuckled and he found himself smirking as he watched her. He could see something in her eyes change when he told her where he lived. He knew the Lagoon wasn't exactly known for gentleman stallions. They were raiders and warriors, known for making trouble with the other herds and taking mares when breeding season came. He wasn't a raider but he did believe in fighting for the right things. He was going to fight Rougaru for Talien's freedom. He would fight for any mare's freedom if they wished it. That was just how he was. He didn't believe in taking a mare against her will, in forcing a mare to do anything. They were precious to him, the birth givers and the anchors in a herd. They were important, and yet some stallions treated them like property.

Not him. He didn't have to believe in everything the bachelors did, so long as he did his part. He was a warrior and trained as such. He was getting to know the other bachelors and had even escorted a pair of stallions back to the Lagoon. Granted, they were already going there anyway, but he felt like he was still doing his duties as a Lagoon stallion. He didn't have to force mares there to do his part. He refused. He didn't even invite Talien there cause he didn't think it was a good place for a mare. When he mentioned Rougaru to Andreania, she said that she hadn't met him yet. She tried to explain away Talien going with Rougaru, saying there must be something about him and Collision scowled. "He offered her a herd and a home. I had nothing to offer." He almost muttered the words, his voice was so soft as he said it. He knew exactly why she went with him. Didn't mean he had to be happy about it.

Then she told him that he had met another leader. His head lifted a little, one brow raising in question as he tilted his head. He was about to ask what she meant when she told him that she was a new leader of a territory called the Shore. He smiled. "Then congratulations." He dipped his head to show respect to her rank. At her next question, he looked away for a moment with a soft sigh. "I...ran from my past. I was in a herd and bad things happened. I needed a break from the herd dynamic so I chose to join the bachelors instead." Maybe it wasn't the grant explanation she was hoping for but it was the reason none the less. Until he figured out somewhere he belonged more, he would stay in the Lagoon.
