Right where I need to be

Desirie

Leilyn embraces her father as he does the same. She was happy to see him and missed him very much. She has not seen much of her father since he left the Desert, but her mother always spoke nicely of Liland. Desirie told Leilyn what stories she could of her father and they were always noce stories even if some were made up. The filly loves her parents and loves where she lives, but she still misses her father.

But Liland turns his sights on Desirie and speaks fast words that held such emotion. Desirie could see he was hurting and Zjeena was one of the issues he was having. It was odd to think Zjeena would do such a thing to Liland. The last she saw of them the Fjord mare was so in love with Liland, but she had stayed captive for awhile. Desirie couldn't begin to think what all goes through the mind of a captive. Maybe she had given up hope for escape. Perhaps breeding with her taker was the only way she was allowed to leave. Desirie didn't know all the details, but the fact that Liland was so hurt by it said enough.

"I'm sorry to hear that." She says calmly. There was nothing she could say to remedy the sitaution. She knew she had made the right decision to stay on Salem now more than ever. Liland's herd was falling apart and Desirie's new home remained stable for her children. Liland says he misses them. "I would not have lived well in the cold and I doubt our daughter would have either. She is born in the heat as I was. Besides, I told you my heart lives in the Salem sands. I cannot leave my home." She gives him a soft smile. "I do wish you would have stayed in the Desert for now a beast lives there, but don't worry I am keeping close track of our child. He will not get his hooves on her." She attempts to change the subject slightly.

"We live in the Dunes now under a mare called Shaydowfax. She is strong and noble, someone I admire. Leilyn will have good role models in the Dunes so you don't need to worry about her wellbeing." From the looks of him, Liland was worse off then they were. Desirie was happy in her home and Leilyn was growing beautifully.
