Zjeena has only just returned to Paradise. Wounds of the heart are still fresh. Though she is grateful for her new family here in paradise, she thinks often of all she's lost in the Bay. At the forefront of these thoughts is, of course, her children, but also Sabela. Her sadness has left her restless. She takes to tracing well worn trails through the jungle, remembering simpler times when she and Rougaru would walk these paths together. At the time, she was still his prisoner, and yearned for the day she could return to Liland. She thought they had the romance of the ages, and she was happy in her naivety. Zjeena is no longer a prisoner here, but somehow she carries a sorrow she can't quite shake. Among the sorrow stirs a rage.
Zjeena makes a conscious effort to breath even breaths in tempo with even steps. The feelings that move her now will do her no good. They might only serve to hurt the foal growing rapidly in her womb. She focuses on each in and out, but the memory of a smell remains a detrimental distraction. The harder Zjeena tries to shake it, the stronger it becomes. Why can she not clear her mind of Sabela?
It takes Zjeena several moments and a few more steps through the lush growth for her to realize it's not her mind that can't be cleared of Sabela; it really is her nose. Sabela is here, in Paradise. Upon this realization excitement rises to replace the sadness. She picks up the pace, and her eyes find a familiar figure around the next bend.
An excited squeal bubbles up from her throat, and she trots to greet her oldest friend. Zjeena's ears prick forward, and her eyes alight with joy. Her neck is arched with the thrill of an unexpected meeting. She reaches out with a curious muzzle, to greet her.
