sent from the heavens above...

The slender buckskin couldn't keep his face from showing every emotion that crossed his mind as Solaris told her story. Sure, it mostly hurt, but the anger found life within him the more he thought about his sweet daughter growing up in that hoard of stallions. He would not allow her precious flame to be dashed by those stallions, no matter how nice they were. Solaris and he probably could have made it, but she'd already made her bed with Raider. She was his first love and he would never forget her, but the betrayal of knowing for sure she was with another stallion, allowed him to breed her even...that cut deep. Don't cry now, little baby. I'm finally seeing some hope for you. He didn't want to think about Solaris going back to the Lagoon when she left here, but more than that, he hated knowing that Galexia was still there with a stranger waiting on her.

The stallion hated the words that came from Solaris' lips. She spoke as if this was goodbye so he felt he should remind her that her children needed a mother as well. He alos let her feel his disappointment that she said she didn't trust Raider but admitted to leaving their daughter with him all the same. The anger only grew. When he told her that she was never there, the bay paint mare admitted she was sorry and that she messed up. She blamed her parents and the way she grew up, how she never really knew love. He shook his head. "No, Solaris. I can't accept that. You know love cause you showed it to me when we first met. And you show it to Galexia. I've seen it. Having a childhood like that should emphasize what you want for your own child, not leave you doomed to repeat it." He had to believe that. Did she think his own childhood was magic and butterflies? Forget it.

He shook his head of such dark thoughts, snorting to clear his mind before he looked at her again. When the mare admitted that Galexia shouldn't grow up the way she did and that they would give her better, he could only nod in agreement. His expression softened when she said that their daugher would always have her mommy. "Yes, she will." He murmured softly. Then she said she needed to get back to her and he couldn't agree faster. She looked back at him, saying she hoped she would get back to him soon and he pawed the ground impatiently. "If not, you can bet you'll see me at the Lagoon." That was a promise. He wouldn't wait forever to see his daughter free. If Solaris couldn't work something out, he would come himself. He had no idea what he was going to do when he got there, but he wouldn't hesitate to go. Maybe knowing that he would willingly put himself in danger would make Solaris hurry a little bit on that promise to see him again.
