where innocences burn in flames
Soon spring would blossom across the islands. Transforming the islands from a bleak, frigid land to vibrant with colors and life. Even the Ridge would flourish with new life. Many of the mares within the herd are heavy with foal, and he knows that his attention will be even more divided between all of them. This must of been how his father had felt during his reign in the Inlet, watching as his herd grew, from one mare to several. A smile touches his lips at the fond memory of his father, one of the only few. His smile remains on his pink lips as she speaks, mentioning her gratitude for washing ashore. "It seems the Norns or sisters of fate, have smiled down on you and granted you good fortune," he says with a nod of his head. The Norns have been kind to him. He has had his fair share of drama, especially among the women, but all of them remain safe despite their bickering. "I am glad, Dahlia," he breathes her name into the space between them. He dares to step closer to the young girl, not knowing how she will respond to his closeness. "You have something on your mind, please speak freely," he whispers to her, as his glacial eyes search her dark gaze. What was going on inside that pretty little head of hers? A soft breeze ruffles his unkempt ebony mane. He dares to let his lips brush a stray hair that falls over the nape of her neck. Her scent wafts around him, it is sweet and perfume like. He lets his lips linger on the delicate curve of her neck. He feels the energy that pulses beneath her gilded skin, the life that courses through her veins.
