With a snort and a toss of his bald crown, he steps into the frothing surf. The cool waters embrace him as he begins his swim to Salem. It is not far and would not take him that long to traverse the small channel between the islands. His thoughts flick to Nya and their colt Sagurd, he is strong in every way and handsome like his father. Then there is is other son, Askold, a dark chestnut that is curious. Yes, so far he has produced strong son and takes pride in their strength.

Salem begins to take form, and a distant form moves along the sandy shores. He quickens his stroke, knowing that Shaydowfax probably would be the one to greet him. An excited nicker leaves his lips as a smaller form frolics in the frothy sea. As the water becomes shallow, he strides through surf, his steps confident. He arches his neck proudly as he prances toward the pale and white splashed colt. There is no denying that the colt before him, is his offspring. He takes in the colts strong legs and the spirit the colt carries. He raises his head proudly as he looks upon his son. But he can not help shake the feeling that there is something off about his son.

His eyes narrow as the realization sinks in. He has no ears. He takes a step back in shock as his eyes widen. How could it be? Where is Shaydowfax? How could she of not told him before now? He jerks his head in the direction of Shaydowfax's voice as she calls for their son.
