He didn't worry so much about his child adapting to the climate here in the Desert. His son or daughter had a much higher chance of thriving because it would be born and raised here. The sun illuminated Geneva and the foal as they came out of the cave and Cain felt his chest puff out in pride to see the sight. His first foal. He was eager to meet them. He couldn't contain himself as he loped toward them, ears forward and a greeting already on his lips. He didn't want to get in Geneva's space in case she was protective, though she should know he would never do anything to harm a child, especially his own. When he came up to them, he could see the foal was a colt and he couldn't be more happy. Filly or colt, he would have still been happy, but just knowing his first child was a boy seemed like Fate trying to tell him something. It had to be a good thing.
He asked for the colt's name and the bay mare responded, telling him the boy's name was Legolas. He smiled at the colt. "Legolas, a good strong name. He will make us both proud." Cain was never more sure of anything. He watched the colt blink and look around, stumbling a little on his hooves but Cain didn't expect anything less. It was his first time walking, after all. He would only get better, stronger, more sure of himself. Then he would be unstoppable. As the colt chewed his mouth, Cain's expression softened and he reached out his muzzle to let the colt smell him, wanting his son to know his smell and know that he was safe. "He's everything and more, Geneva. Thank you for giving me this opportunity." Cain said, unable to take his gaze away from the colt for a moment, just admiring him. Everything about him was perfect.
