The Grotto

Disaster has struck!
Years ago, an earthquake broke open several entrances into a deep, winding series of subterranean systems. It was thought that deep below, underground rivers snaked their way below Moladion. Now, flooding in the Northern reaches of Moladion has proven this theory to be true.

The Grotto is almost entirely submerged. Many of the entrances are completely inaccessible, and those that are only extend a few hundred feet before ending in water. The lower entrances, however, act almost like a giant drain for Moladion. Water pours down into the Grotto's maw as powerful rapids and waterfalls, and large amounts of debris have build up throughout the area. It can be exceptionally dangerous to travel due to the risk of flash-flooding and dams suddenly breaking, but the Grotto does offer the most consistent access across the floodwaters because of those dams.

Note:The Grotto will return to normal once 25 posts have been completed (or at Staff discretion). During this time, new threads will receive a 'Surprise','Disaster', and prizes.

I MUST CONFESS I FEEL LIKE A MONSTER

The big beast enjoys their play, her growl more one of fun than one of fury. He understood the taste of fury on his tongue. The moment when he scented blood in the air, when his mind became super focused. This was not it. It is why he does not snarl, spit, revolt against her presence; instead, he welcomes their rough play. He had not played in such a manner in so long, his siblings not having been thrust along with him and his father, though he neither knew if was negligence or decisive.

One thing about Menkhet is clear swiftly, however. She had a temper, one that sparked when any indication of weakness was thrown her way. Or even her mothers. Nyteshade grins brightly at her, pale silver-green eyes flashing with mirth as he cackles and giggles, amused by the situation. Always, though, he calculates. He cons, he listens. He is a strange boy but he is not too far strange that he cannot do as he was bid. Besides, he likes this game. The tease, grasp, take, hide of it. What he takes and seizes, well that was the question.

His head tilts at her implied threat. She is a killer of wolves. He shrugs, unaffected, for he, too, has done such a thing. Did it matter she ate the heart? She was no different than half the other wolves. Some killed for survival, some for fun. ”To live and to die, to eat and to starve, same old same old,” he replies back, his giggling voice suddenly falling flat. Bored. He didn’t care about how beautiful the plains were, nor did he wish to wax poetic about murder. He would rather just do it if the girl wanted to talk about it.

Her next question perks him up, ears flicking forward one more from where they had fallen in his disinterest. ”Because I asked.” He answers his initial question boldly, staring at her with sudden sharp eyes. He did not seem so strange anymore or maybe he seemed stranger for it. His eyes locked on Menk’s, digging deep, feeling … something. Some niggling feeling within him, growing deeper. Unknowingly he takes a few steps towards her, never once blinking. ”Tell me a secret and I’ll tell you one. I promise, it’s a good one.”

I feel it deep within, it's just beneath my skin:
I must confess that I FEEL LIKE A MONSTER
