Mysterious lockets have appeared on Shaman! These stylish pieces of jewellery come in a number of different designs and are made from three different metals.
What’s curious about these lockets is that when they’re fused with a certain kind of gemstone, they do something a little bit… magical.
So far, we are aware of six different gemstones which can be fused with the lockets. Different gemstones can be fused with different types of lockets to create a different, uhh, reaction. All reactions are positive, although some can have a rather permanent effect on the character wearing the locket at the time!
Here’s how to play with the lockets, if you’re brave enough:
Finding lockets and gemstones
Lockets and gemstones can be found primarily through posting.
- There’s a 50% chance of finding a locket or a gemstone when you go on an exploration.
- There’s a 50% chance of finding a locket or a gemstone as part of a prize when you go questing.
- There’s a 50% chance of acquiring a locket or gemstone when you turn in your ren and request your level branch.
- There’s a 10% chance of finding a locket or gemstone when you post regularly.
- You can request for a random locket or random gemstone to be one of the lottery prizes if you get a gold ticket.
- You can attempt to buy a locket from Murray. See below!
Buying lockets
Murray doesn’t sell gemstones, unfortunately, but he does have a stash of lockets he’s eager to sell. To buy from Murray…
1. Post on the updates board requesting to buy a locket from Murray.
2. Murray will offer you a randomised locket and a randomised price. You can choose to buy the locket at the set price or turn it down.
3. There is a 10-day cool-off period, so you cannot attempt to buy another locket from Murray for 10 more days (even if you reject his offer!)
Fusing lockets and gemstones
Lockets must be assigned to a character before they can be fused. Each locket can only fuse with a gemstone once. Some lockets will become magical items which you may wish to keep with a character or shunt to a different character; other lockets will let off a single burst of magic and then just become a pretty (but useless) item your character can wear.
Assign lockets to characters by posting on the updates board.
To fuse a locket with a gemstone, first ensure the locket is in a character’s inventory. Gemstones can be used from their inventory or from your bank. Post on updates to request to fuse a character’s locket with a gemstone.
