She was dividng her energy between the two mares, knowing both needed her but in different ways. Zjeena was laboring hard and the birth wasn't going so smoothly. She needed encouragement and focus. Rayna was hurting, grieving for her mother and she needed maternal guidance. Even in her own pain, Zjeena still wanted to help others, trying to reach out for Rayna as the younger mare collapsed in her grief. Monster snorted softly as Zjeena apologized like it was her fault Sabela wasn't here anymore. They all knew it wasn't, but Zjeena was trying to relieve some of Rayna's pain, despite giving into her own. The beach wasn't the best place to give birth and Monster was about to offer her shoulder to get Zjeena somewhere safe when the mare suddenly started to turn away to leave. Monster scowled, not sure if the mare should be alone right now. Everything just felt off.

About the time Zjeena collapsed onto her side, Monster ran to her, whickering assurance as she nudged her nose at the mare lightly. "Zjeena, you can do this. Don't you dare give up on me, woman." Looking toward her flanks, the paint gasped softly, knowing something didn't look or feel right about the birth. What could she do? When the mare suddenly spoke, asking Sabela to wait for her, Monster stomped the sand, her brows furrowed as she lowered her muzzle to Zjeena. "You listen and you listen good, Zjeena. You are going to push for everything you've got to get this baby out. We are not losing any more mares, you hear me? Don't make me kick your ass. Not push!" Panic was making her chest flutter in a new way as she watched the cream mare thrash and flail. She hated seeing her like this.

Meanwhile Rayna was falling prey to her grief, letting it eat her alive. Monster's heart went out to her, wishing she knew what to do for her as well. Finally the young mare stood and thanked them before telling her to come visit and Monster nodded, offering a small smile. "I'll have to do that." She assured the mare, knowing that Rayna would need support more than ever right now. As the young mare took in Zjeena's situation, Monster could see her withdraw, saying she couldn't stay as she then turned and raced back into the water. Watching her go, the paint snorted softly, hoping she could find her inner strength like Monster knew she had inside. She turned back to Zjeena, knowing the other lead mare needed her right now. She was where she needed to be for now.
