She could tell things were happening but her mother was keeping her in the dark about a lot of it and she wasn't happy. There were whispers of war and Medusa knew her mother and father were involved. They were going to fight in it! That was so cool! Medusa wanted to go watch but her mother told her no. Medusa HATED the word No. She huffed and stomped her hoof and even tried to bite her mother but that didn't get her anywhere but a harder bite to her own flanks in retaliation. Her mother's mind was made up on the matter, but that didn't mean Medusa had to be happy about it. She took her tantrum out on the rest of the island, kicking up sand and rocks and pummelling her tiny hooves against trees. "Stupid war. Stupid mother. Stupid tree!" She cried out in anger, squealing in defiance as she kicked and thrashed at the tree, even turning to rear up and paw at it with her front hooves. Of course, the tree wasn't putting up much a fight. Bark fell from it like rain and finally she grew tired and bored so she quit. Snorting, she tossed her head and took off to find something else to take her anger out on. That's when she heard voices. Her father! She'd recognize Rougaru's voice anywhere. Venturing toward it, she stopped in the shadow of the trees to look the cream stallion and the dark bay who stood facing each other. The bay stallion was a stranger and didn't smell like the rest of the herd members but her father didn't seem to be angry with him for being here. Medusa didn't understand the question. Why was her father asking about reinforcements? What are those, anyway? Curious and not at all afraid, she stepped right out until she was standing by Rougaru's shoulder. Tiny ears pricked, she reached out her muzzle to get a better sniff at the bay stallion. "Who are you?" She asked, all innocence as she eyed him. Sure, she was good at playing the part when there was something interesting a-foot.
