Meadow

Summer was her favorite. It always had been. Fall was full of hormones - either her own or her feminine counterparts; winter far too cold for her liking, and spring was doubly distasteful with the perpetual mud and squalling of infant foals. And it wasn't that Vanya hated foals, per se. She just was in no rush to have her own and to this point, very much preferred the thought of being the pretty young auntie, rather than a mother herself.

She liked the heat of the sun in summer. It stirred up the passion in everyone until the entire world was buzzing with it, herself included. The world felt it to. What more fitting season was there for a multi-island war than summer? Vanya, too, was at her best in the summer - all legs and neck and elegance - and she had every intention of making full use of what mother nature had gifted her with.

This desire to be admired, for what it is worth, is what has led her to the meadow, rather than to the Falls or the Common. She had no intention of competing with the natural beauty of the water all, nor did she intend to let herself be stolen away by someone entirely undesirable. She wanted to weigh her options, to find the best fit for her life. At least for now. Heaven only knew what the future would hold now that the war was commencing. The meadow, with all it's open space and multiple visitors, was perfect for her needs.

Vanya struck out across the field of summer flowers at a trot, enjoying the bask of sun against her silken coat as she stretched her legs. She didn't immediately see any lone equines but this did not dissuade her. They would come, of this she was certain. Strategically, she chose an open clearing that would allow her to see anyone who chose to approach and began to pick delicately at the tastiest grass while she waited.
