I would sell my soul for a bit more time

How do I form a connection when we can't even shake hands?
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxYou're like a phantom greeting me

At her queen's offer to show her to the Oasis, Nereid couldn't help the helpless glance she tossed to Bahadir. To refuse her queen would be the highest insult but she wanted a few moments to catch her bearing. Walking with the queen meant gathering her strength and moving forth even though as she desired was to lay down. It also opened up the possibility of having to converse and give her life story. To be frank, she wasn't ready to tell anyone about her history in the lands beyond the bare bones.

Bahadir's words are a breath of fresh air. Her shoulder's sag beneath her flesh and a look of pure relief flashes across her face. She wouldn't be expected to make an arduous journey so soon. "I forget how much the journey between island's can sap one's strength. Apologies my queen for my inability to make the trek so soon." She wants to make it known to Shaydowfax that offence is not meant in their rejection.

Turning away from them, Nereid takes a few wobbly steps to the shore. She can feel that there are words left unsaid between them. The air is heavy with tension and it causes discomfort to taint her scent. Nervous energy bleeds from her frame and causes her to seek sanctuary away from both equines. Bahadir may be the epitome of comfort but when paired with his queen, Nereid is left feeling bereft and alone.

After she has put a good chunk of distance between herself and her rulers, Nereid allows herself to finally sink to the ground. All four pillars are neatly tucked underneath her body and she lay her chin upon the hot sand. The sun is warm upon her icy skin and she cannot help but bask in the heat. Her lashes lower, kissing her cheeks as she slips into a light doze. Perhaps if she makes not a sound, they will forget she is even there.

Poseidon calls to my heart and soul but dare I risk the wrath of Amphitrite to pursue him? she cannot help but ponder.
