Meadow

So long had she felt half of her self, half the heart that long lay with the crimson stallion who had left on his quest many many moons ago. She had never spoken of her adoration, not to him at least, they had been young and the heart a fickle thing. So long did she deny that sudden rush of adrenaline when his eyes fell upon hers or that warm sensation that seemed to envelop her when even his scent drifted her direction. He had always been there for her, her guardian and protector even when she had no need. He had been the one to take blame for all the transgressions that generally were her idea and his absence had been a sore festering wound that as the years past she had learned to deal with.

But that is no more.

Once more that familiar warmth floods through her, seeping through the tough barrier like rain into parched soil. The barriers and walls that she built around her soul vanishes almost instantly as his whiskered lips touch her own and once more that familiar scent overwhelms her. "Dex.." she murmurs, his name choking upon her tongue in the weight of what this moment meant. She was no longer alone.

Of course there was Liland, Ylva, Rayna and the foals... but even then always had she kept that wall strong and high. With Dex, there is no walls... he is the piece of her heart long lost and to feel its nearness again... she cannot help but to feel almost overwhelmed.

His words whisper comfort to her, the nickname a stark reminder that despite the years of change that have taken its toll upon them, he is still the same impish boy she had known as a child. A girlish giggle slides past her own lips as she reaches out to nip lightly at his strong muscular shoulder, pale eyes glittering with mischief. "I've told you before I'm no princess... not for a long time now." she murmurs, her voice trailing as for the first time in a long time her gaze drifts to the seas where she knew their home had once lain far beyond the toiling seas.

A single ear tilts towards him now as he remarks that regardless of where she went he would always find her. Though a part of her had wondered the sincerity of it, she could not deny the comfort she found in it. "Yes, I suppose you do.... but you sure do take your precious time in doing it." she teases bumping his hip against her own before dancing just beyond his reach. How long it has been. So long since last the desire to run and frolic through the wooded lands. Long since she last felt the freedom of no cares beyond the next game that she had Dex could come up with.

He asks what is new and Talien cannot help but to feel that lingering worry weigh upon her mind. If he only knew what Liland had done when first she met him... there would be nothing left of the gray stallion of the Bay. For a moment she wondered if that would be such a bad thing... but well, she loved Dex to much to purposefully see him into battle. Not for her. For now she would keep that to herself. "Yeah I found a home... well, I suppose the home found me really. " she breathes giving her proud head a shake, pale silver blue eyes glittering as she meets those deep emerald ooids that for so long only haunted her dreams. "I live in the Bay now, the stallion there has made me his Beta mare for some unknown reason. Something about my wisdom... strange right?" she adds with a teasing grin. "I have a daughter now. Her name is Amber Rose... and I am helping to care for an orphaned colt..." she continues, pausing for a moment as her weight shifts from one hind to another. "Nothing new really... what about you? Why were you gone so long?" she asks almost desperate for an answer. "I waited... but you didn't come back." she asks, proud head tilting, thick curling locks of chocolate hue dancing along the elegant curve of her arching neck.
