It wasn’t like my father or mother didn’t teach me about safety. They preached it to me until I was sure my ears would bleed. One time I had even reached down, stuck a toe as much as I could in my ear to check, and when my dad had asked what I was doing, I told him that I was getting an earache from this and wasn’t there safety in not having to be lectured? Yeah, I had been grounded to the den for a day for being smart with him, though I HAD noticed his mouth twitch. He would’ve smiled, I know it, but despite my whining, I had still be confined. While I could be a smart mouth at times, I still obeyed the rules set down for me by my parents. I didn’t wander from Spirane and wouldn’t unless they agreed to come with me anyways because I wasn’t stupid. I didn’t know the world and I didn’t want to get lost.

Myrcella’s gaze slid to the tree and she nods. I grin, happy she understood me, tail wagging slightly. The grin changes to a slight befuddled frown as I glance back as if to see a squirrel and give Myrcella a weird look. ”You mean like sneaky and quiet?” I didn’t know of any squirrels who were ‘tricky’. They were just fast and loud. I did have one throw a nut at my head one time so maybe she meant they were dangerous because they could poke an eye out. I shrug abruptly, shutting down anymore thought on it as I turn to plead my case with her and wait for her to agree. She just HAD to or I would be so bored.

At first I think she is turning me down and I whine slightly until she continues, my whine turning into a pant of happiness. Maybe not an adult hunt but a hunt nonetheless. I give an open-mouthed grin and a yip of excitement, tail wagging so hard I can feel my back feet swaying with it. ”Yes! Yes, yes yes! Then we can show all of you adults that we are good enough to join you on a pack hunt!” I would not be deterred from joining my parents on a hunt and if it meant doing a juvenile hunt first, I was down!

I drop my front to the ground, butt in the air wiggling as I growl at her playfully, so thrilled she is going to play hunt and seek with me. ”Ready!” I lay my back end down and toss my paws over my snout, covering my eyes, though technically it didn’t matter if I saw where she went as long as she didn’t see me coming. ”One… two…
