Meadow

Nereid snapped her crown to the side when the sound of footsteps met her auds. Her brow lifted to see an equine bathed in silver stumbling over his feet and dishevelled in appearance and mindset. The motherly side of her demanded that she assist the obviously distraught man but the mare in her cautioned that mayhaps Bahadir would not appreciate her returning with the wisps of another stallion on her.

Once upon a time I assisted a stallion in need and it was met with suspicion and eventual heartbreak. Dare I do it again?

It seemed the option would be taken out of her grasp. The confused man approached her, lyrics falling from his mouth in a rush. Persephone? Demeter. Of course I know them. she thought, bewilderment at his questions painting her face. Why would a stallion be inquiring about the gods?

"One does not simply find the gods or demand their presence. We are mortals; we live, we breed and then we die. It is by their own whim that they may deem one worthy to grace them with their presence."

Nereid does not mean to be cruel. The gods are beings who do not share the fickle fate of mortals. A lifetime to them is a mere second or a blink of an eye. To demand to be taken to them is absurd! No one has the power to appear before a god unless the god in question is interested to be found. Who is this man to demand the impossible?

"I do not mean to be the bearer of ill news but you ask for something that can be given. Who are you? Why do you seek the gods?" Is he another rapid acolyte? Or does his desire stem from innocent reverence?
