Boss's Decree

"For every brother you bring to our
midst, you may keep a trinket all to
yourself. She will not be sullied or traded, unless you deem otherwise. But should you bring a mare here without a new brother first, then I will consider her property of the Lagoon as a whole
and do with her as I see fit." - Garmr

Rules

• The Lagoon is where homeless stallions come to live as a brotherhood. Mares may not live here except as captives or companions for the Leaders.

• Soldiers keep mainly to fighting, Thieves keep mainly to raiding, and Associates may do both, neither, or act as diplomats. Members may issue their own battles and raids, but should generally consult the General, Marauder or Boss for permission.

• All major decisions are determined by vote, but the Boss maintains order within the Lagoon and has the final say.

• Elections for leadership positions will be held every TLI summer, provided the qualifying criteria are met.

• You can find detailed information about how the Lagoon works on the Rules page.

• Upon election, the Boss can issue a rule for members to follow during their tenure. It is up to leadership to enforce.

WHERE THERE IS L O V E

Shenzi falls still and silent as she hears the stallion call out, a tinge of bashfulness warming her cheeks in momentary embarrassment, but it is there-and-gone, and she shakes herself free. The small, seal brown mare watches as he approaches, curious about the lone male. She dips her head in greeting and reaches toward him, inhaling his scent and exhaling softly. “Hi,” Shenzi murmurs over the gentle sound of the surf.

His next words paint a smile on her lips, and the mare gives her head a little shake. She had not been expecting to find anyone, really, let alone a stallion who brought an aura of tranquillity with him that blanketed Shenzi’s troubled heart. There was an easiness to him, one that had Shenzi feeling comfortable in his presence. He was so unlike many of the stallions who roamed the Lagoon currently, who completely overlooked her, and thought mares so much less than they were.

“I just needed somewhere peaceful to gather my thoughts,” she said after several moments, answering his question. Shenzi mulled over a question of her own, before glancing up at the pale giant before her, a smile twitching the corners of her lips upon catching sight of the way his ivory fringe arrayed itself across his face. It was rather endearing. “I see you missed the mass exodus. Was that by chance, or by choice?”

Shenzi herself knew little about the war, but had been around long enough to pick up tidbits of information here and there. Even if her circumstance had been other than they were, she felt her choice to remain behind would have remained unaltered. This bachelor herd lacked the heart of the band of brothers she’d run with on the mainland, and though she worried a little for what might be the only gentle soul amongst the Lagoon dwellers, Shenzi did not know Collision beyond the hours he’d watched over her. If he returned from the war, and if Shenzi was still here, maybe she’d make an effort to get to know him. But as it was now, she was alone, save for the moonlit male, a friendly face without a name.

Did he even know of the war? Perhaps his reply would answer this unspoken query.
