can you see me now?

She could see she wasn't very convincing or his spirits really were crushed after losing Shaydowfax in the fight. Illusion hated to see anyone beaten down mentally and she didn't blame him for what happened. Anything could happen in a fight, neverless in the middle of a war. It didn't mean he wasn't strong enough. Luck just might not have been on his side this time. For a moment he seemed to study her face and she tilted her head a little, wondering what he was looking for. Did he wonder if she knew about Shaydowfax being stolen? He confirmed it only moments later by telling her that her friend was indeed won in a battle. He went on to explain that they were ambushed by Warsaw. Illusion's ears folded back at the mention of the older stallion, knowing him well enough since he tried to steal her before.

Otherwise she kept her features patient and neutral as he told his story. At then end, she nodded. "Yes, he's older and more experienced in battle. That doesn't make you any less capable as a leader. You may have lost today but that doesn't mean you'll lose tomorrow. You can't lose hope, Bahadir. We need your strength." She reminded him of his responsibility to the rest of the herd, hoping to wake some inner strength up in him. If not for her, then for the others. He was their leader and he couldn't just take a break because his ego was hurt. He needed to get back up, dust himself off, and do it again for the sake of the herd. He said that he didn't know when or if she would return and Illusion sighed. "Oh, I'm sure we'll hear from her, one way or another. She may come for your head, but either way, she'll make herself known." The mare said with a wry smirk and a twinkle in her eyes, hoping to tease some life back into him.

Then he asked if she was angry and she gave a laugh before snorting and shaking her head. "No, Bahadir, I'm not mad. Battle isn't always skill. Sometimes it's just about luck and we were unlucky this time. Shaydowfax can handle herself and I'm sure she'll come back from this even stronger." She reached out to breath gently on his neck, hoping he would see that her intentions were pure.
