He suddenly felt like a fish between the beaks of two birds fighting over who gets to eat it. He'd seen the intense battle on the shores of the Desert and he felt anxiety building at the very thought. Legolas wanted to play rough like a colt and tease and joke but Paisley was obviously a different species with being a filly. She was his first interaction with one so Akello was taking notes for later. Maybe all fillies were like this? If so, he would need experience to know how to deal with them. So far, he felt like he was winning Paisley over with his gentler attitude but Legolas wasn't changing for anyone so it was going to be a lot more challenging than he thought. She thanked him for trying but said she couldn't play with Legolas, telling him to find her if he wanted to play sometime. His eyes darkened in disappointment but he gave a sad nod, making a note to himself to seek her out so they could explore and hang out.
His ears flicked back in dismay as Paisley then scolded Legolas, saying the cave wasn't that special and there was nothing new for her there. He scowled, not liking them fighting but there was nothing he could do about it. Then she turned and trotted back to her mother. Watching her go with a sigh, Akello shook out his short mane and turned to Legolas with a sheepish smirk. "So...where's this cave?" He could tell Legolas was really bothered by Paisley and he wasn't sure how he was going to save this so they could play and laugh again. Trotting over to him, he nudged his shoulder playfully and tossed his head. "Bet I can beat you there." Doubtful, since he didn't even know where it was, but he had to do something to get his brother in better spirits.
