At that, Psychedelic snorted his amusement. A glitter warmed his brown eyes as they snapped with sharper focus onto her. Perhaps there was a piece of Psychedelic that sought out his own chaos. At his core, for all the times he swore he wanted peace and quiet, he seemed desperately magnetized to that which would flip the world upside down instead. He had survived in disarray since the first breath he drew so it was natural he would be drawn toward it, subconsciously or not.

Perhaps this was foreshadowing for his recent desire to settle down, hide away and live out his remaining years in peace and quiet.

“Look, I’m extremely flattered you’re this obsessed with me. It’s been a little while because I am, as you can see, an ugly old bastard,” he smiled with a wink, “but I just don’t have time for a relationship right now. So please, keep your flirting and all this talk of stalking me to yourself.”

There was an edge just then to that smile – just for a fraction of a second. Just long enough for one as observant as her to catch.

“Talya!” He shouted suddenly, not breaking eye contact with the blaze-faced mare in front of him. “Come out here!”

Oh, this is getting good. You’re not keeping the girl hidden? Okay, I’m tagging back in you crazy old bastard.

The branches shook and rattled as her body brushed them, she moved timidly forward, confusion in her eyes as they darted from him to Nobody and back again. She didn’t understand why Mamapapa was calling her out in the open, in front of another horse, and he wasn’t looking at her to give her a sign. He was just staring at Nobody. Waiting.

When Talya stopped near him, eyes meekly his, one of Psychedelic’s ears turned toward her.

“Who’s your delightful new friend?” He asked with an almost singsong quality soft and gentle in his voice that didn’t match the light in his eyes.

“Nobody…” she answered and glanced nervously toward Nobody. But Nobody didn’t seem very scared… and Mamapapa didn’t seem very angry. Talya’s head lifted and her ears perked forward, hope dawning in her little mind that maybe, just maybe, Mamapapa would like Nobody too, and she could spend more time with Nobody.
