Meadow

Nereid is eager to reciprocate the mare's greeting, honey eyes dancing with joy. Despite living in a herd full of mares, Nereid was always searching for new friends. She was thankful that this mare seemed to be of the friendly sort and not against making a new acquaintance.

"It certainty felt like a long swim but I do admit that I make it quite often. I have a weakness for the ocean, you see, and it drives me to go on random adventures to the other islands. Don't tell anyone I said so though or else I might get in trouble!" she lowered her voice at the end, a mischievous grin painting her face.

"The water isn't too bad at the moment. The last of the summer's warmth is still lingering. The initial plunge can be a tad chilling but once you get used to it, it is not too bad. I can join you on solid ground if that would make you more comfortable?"

A break from the ocean would be nice. Nereid had spent hours within it's comforting embrace in the last couple of days and a chance to recuperate sounded appealing. However, if the charcoal mare wanted to take a gander in the ocean waves, who was Nereid to dissuade her? She would enjoy a chance to share her love of water.

"Apologies for my deplorable manners. My name is Nereid. May I know your name?"
