hold me in this wild, wild world;

The heat seemed to cling close to her body, filling any void where a breeze might have blown through. She couldn’t stand it. The autumn (and the spring) seemed to bring out the worst in both genders. Talien knew well enough to hide away until she could contain herself, but the simpering and the doe eyes some of her gender made sickened her. The way they could just flaunt themselves as something to be on display and admired. Her mind thinks briefly that perhaps she should have stayed on the mainland, perhaps strike out on her own away from father and his herd, but what would have that done? He would have found her, his second trace her scent to whatever hidden copse or distance she thought she put between them. In all honesty she was still slightly surprised that he nor the others ever dared the swim to the islands. She would have never found anything new, discovered the vast world that lay upon the island chains. She would never have become who she was now.

For the moment, her childhood flashes before her eyes, brought to the surface by Dex's emerald gaze. Even then she had a smile just for him and she never dared to allow herself to imagine that he too might have a secret smile all for herself. Princess. Again the word falls past his lips and that impish smile, she cannot help the rise of emotions and the heightened thrum of her heartbeat.

When he asks about whether she found a herd or had children of her own she can see the hurt in his eyes as she speaks of Amber Rose. She wanted to tell him, to open her soul to him as she always had. She wanted to tell him about how Liand had lain his claim upon her skin, had urged her with false words of kindness only to overwhelm her upon his shores. She wanted to tell him how she tried to fight his assault, how he had forced his seed within her womb to secure that it was his child who chained her to his herd. She wanted to feel the long pent up tears meld into the chocolate brown warmth of his skin as his husky voice pressed away such memories.... but she dared not.

They had only been children then, but even now Talien remembered the anger with which he had arisen against the young colt who had brought tears to her young eyes. She remembered with worry for his very soul and so she would keep this secret even from him. Liland was difficult but he had not forced her again. He had in fact prompted her to his second in command. It would never be the same, nor would the apology that fell from nonchalant lips mean anything in comparison to the scared that had rent her soul... the sorrow that mirrored in Dex's eyes now.

Of course she was never sure that their paths would cross again, but still she felt sure that her heart beat for him alone. Dex had always been her confidant and even now she feels that warmth lingering in his emerald eyes as he whispered compliments of her daughter. His voice is soft as he sighs now, murmuring his reason. Small ears press forward against the island zephyrs, listening to his softened voice with widened eyes.

Crystaline tears threaten the corners of her silver blue pools. He thought he needed to make something of himself? Her heart swelled. Perhaps it was a mixture of the changing seasons, but Talien felt certain that it was something more. Her heart pounded against her small breast as she presses her small muzzle against his own, tracing the lines along his strong jaw and down the muscular curve of his neck. "I never wanted anything more than who you are already." she murmurs, her breath hot and heady against his skin. Paperthin nostrils flare as she inhales the intoxicating aroma of his flesh, excited by the tingle of pleasure that coursed through her veins. She draws back now, blinking up at him from beneath the thick veil of dark lashes. "I always wanted you. I did not care what anyone else said..." she murmurs now, an impish smile upon her lips as she thought of what might have been. No doubt father would have been furious, she could see him now, stomping his hoof and knashing his teeth in frustration but Talien would have stood by that decision. When Dex left, she had intended to find him, but well tracking was never her strong suit.

He had found her. Gods smiled upon them surely for in all the worlds and in all the lands it was this one in which two halves were now made whole. Affectionately she lips at a straying strand of his obsidian mane, pale gaze hopeful as she once again seeks the comfort of his embrace. She pivotes towards him, angling her lithe form against the tall strong form of his own til even their shadows meld into one. Neatly she tucks her crown beneath his powerful jaw, finding comfort in the ease in which it fit there. He wanted to know what he could do... how he could make up the time lost... he begged her forgiveness but perhaps it was she who should be begging for his forgiveness. "Stay...." she did not know what posssessed her but she could think of nothing else. "Please.... stay">
