Relief. That was what pressed past his lips as he sighed. Relief. She smiles at his comment of princess, chuckles even. He would have to remember that for later on. She kicks out at the shallow water and spins around to buck out playfully at him. He laughs, rearing up and thrashing his forelegs in pleasure. It had been some time since he had anyone to play with except Noctis and these days his brother never seemed to want to play.
He was relieved to know that her father would not force his choice of a boyfriend on her. Beowulf just would not be able to settle for that. "Good." he breathes, taking a step forward to brush his ash dusted lips against her own as he had often seen father doing to his mares. It was strange, the flutter of emotions that rose within his body. perhaps that was why father did it. It was strange, but nice. "You're my princess now." Where did those words come from? It sounded nice. It made her smile.
She promises not to like his brother and his smile broadens. Not like he would have let Noctis have her. She was his now after all. He does not want to be lame or giddy and yet he cannot help the sudden delight that overwhelms him even in this awkward moment. She asks him if he wants to investigate under the falls and once more the goofy lopsided smile returns. "I knew there was a reason you were my princess." he teases taking a few prancing steps forward ears alert amid the tangle of his alabaster mane. "Come on. I'll go first so I know its safe for you princess." he says turning back to look at her, waiting for her to join him at his side.
