~ bed of grass, soft green pillow
Another soft sob falls from her pink lips just as a crack of a branch draws her attention from the shining light of
Sonay's face. She turns her chiseled crown away, trying to hide her tear streaked face and red puffy eyes. She sniffles a few more times as she tries to hide the fact that she was just sobbing to the moon.
Umm are you okay?
She tilts her chiseled crown back to him. How could she even begin to tell anyone what she battles with? Jealousy. Anger. Loneliness. All of the above? She had went to Paradise thinking that she would belong there, but now she feels like she has been lying to herself the entire time.
"I'm fine," she whispers, the words linger on her pink lips. Her heart clenches as she looks up at him, where she finds genuine kindness.
If only she had a backbone, none of this would of ever happened. She would not have her heart torn into pieces and left scattered on the ground.
"I am okay," she says again, but this time with more strength. She lifts her chiseled crown up to meet his eyes with her bicolored gaze.
"I am Calypso, daughter of Asche and Caesisus," she says with a lift of her chin. A soft smile graces her pink lips. How could she begin to thank the tall stranger for showing her kindness?
"Thank you for showing me kindness, when you owe me nothing," she breathes her gratitude into the still midnight air.
