Another one that comes to mind is the 1999 July 1 ISMA race at Lancaster Speedway. We were there as a family and Russ Wood won in the Dunigan 29. We were out on the track after the race...the deal was that the winner of the race would be a guaranteed starter in the 1999 Classic and was presented a plaque to commemorate this. Woody signed the plaque and gave it to my son as a souvenir. Bingo...my family instantly became Russ Wood fans for life. One of the all-time greatest supermodified drivers...especially with a wing bolted on.
