Use caution when the wolf comes knocking;

Rougaru does not feel himself in this forest. He had given the wolf the reins the moment his hooves first met the graveled shores of the beaches, the moment his ears first heard the desperate screams of fury and pain, the first time flashes of horseflesh shown in the moonlight. He let the beast control him now.

Possessiveness drove him to Celestria's side. Golden eyes gleam beneath emerald hues as the chocolate stallion took up his position at her side, the enforcer. Lips peel back from yellow-stained teeth as the stallion stared down the pale sand colored mare and white splashed chestnut son of Shamwari. They were no doubt a formidable match, but there is doubt. He does not miss the flash of fear that grips the pale mare when he steps forward. The beast does not miss the flinch of her skin or the flash in her eyes. He does not miss the way her ears fall back beneath the thick tumble of her chocolate mane or snarl that forms upon her own lips. She was afraid of him.

Normally he would feel intrigued. The creature curious by nature. He was not one to shy away from stalling the fight long enough to hear whatever tale it was she had to tell that spoke of how he offended her or harmed her. The wolf liked to hear it.

Celestria speaks now, taking a step towards the mare with ears buried beneath her pale tresses. She wanted Jabari to fight his father? Ears swivel towards the pale mare as emerald eyes flit to fix her with an unreadable gaze. It was a fools dream. Even as at times he despised his father, he never would have attacked him, much less done the bidding on behalf of one he hated. He could only imagine how quickly he would turn upon the hands of Liland if the damned gray stallion ever imagined him master after a defeat. It was a comical hope really. It seemed as though the pale mare and Jabari thought so too. Both looked at her as if she had lost her mind and despite his own disbelief he could not stop the growl of warning that lingered within his lungs, reminding them that she might be batshit crazy but he would protect her. It was his duty. If she were to go loco, it was the alpha's responsibility to put her down. Not them.

Jabari demand they leave, and Rougaru feels the chuckle rumble in his lungs. As if he could make them. However it was not until Shamwari appears that Rougaru feels the wolf straighten and stand at attention. This was the real threat.

Yellow eyes flash behind green as tension builds beneath his chocolate flesh. This was the battle rising. Shamwari glares at him now, the words spoken with what he felt was clear demanding authority. Leave.
The beast laughs. Rougaru laughs. Emerald eyes glitter in the pale early dawn light. "Leave? Now? But we have only just begun." he murmurs, his voice thick with the graveled wolf's tone. Ears lace backwards as he takes a single threatening step forward, lifting his thick skull defiantly, daring.

He glances at the pale mare, a wolfish grin spreading upon his lips before his gaze turns back upon Shamwari. "Such a pretty face... I imagine you would just hate to lose her to the jungle. Like you lost Sanibel. Surely my name lingers upon her tongue still in reverent prayer." he taunts, his gaze upon the copper stallion. This was a battle long in the making. One he had prepared for.
