Snow was on the ground, the beginning of winter yet the snow itself did not take long to be a few inches deep already; hardly a problem for our girl, her long black legs pushing through the cold mush without much resistance, ice clinging to the dark tassels around her hooves. It almost felt like home, but it wasn't. The falls that appear just ahead were not that common in her birth home of Tinuvel and Luana could not guess when she had actually laid eyes on such a water feature as the falls. It would freeze, just as everything else would around it but for now the lingering few souls could take part in grabbing a quick refreshing drink.
Luana steps forward, her lean yet hefty body bringing her forward to the edge of the rippling pool. A quick glance down has curious eyes taking in the vast inky darkness that was her face before her lips open to allow herself to drink; the water cold as it passes down her throat and trickles along her whiskered muzzle when she pulls away. It was still early, snow flurries floating down from above to coat the earth in another layer and adding to the white patterning along her backside that was already there.
Perhaps she would stay a while then, it was the perfect morning to get a little peace now that everyone's raging hormones were no longer at play; they could afford to stop and enjoy the peace now. |
