Force-claiming is not allowed here. This is a peaceful, neutral area meant for socialising.

i'm headed straight for the castle...

there's an old man sitting on the throne there saying i probablly shouldn't be so mean

Crunch. And then another, followed by yet another crunch.

I sigh, quietly and to myself; my quiet time is over. I look over my shoulder, already irritated at this intrusion. My ears are already buried in the thick, tangled mess of my mane as blue eyes meet blue eyes. But he’s approaching slowly, calmly. Almost as if he has no intention of breaking the silence. Maybe he’s enjoying the peace and quiet too?

My ears come up, forward, and I too extend my nose out in a silent greeting. He’s almost a full foot taller than me and I have to look up at him, my eyes dragging over his ivory form. I linger briefly at his shoulder (yes, I had noticed. I notice everything.) and cock an eyebrow in his direction. I don’t ask. I want to know, but I’m trying to soak in as much quiet as possible.

It looks as if he’s on the move and he wants me to follow. I hesitate. I’m not really a follower and I consider standing my ground out of spite. But I had just been yearning for some company. I just hadn’t expected it this soon. I toss my forelock from my face and take a step forward.

Crunch. Crunch. Man, I love this sound.

He seems to be in no hurry to be anywhere so I settle in slowly next to him. I sigh inwardly, glad that he’s not bombarded me with questions just yet. I’m not ready to break the silence. I’m not ready to be out of my own head. My mind wanders as we walk slowly, silently. I take in the flat, white landscape and find myself missing the green of the trees, the warmth of the sun on my face, the smell of him.

Crunch.

My mind snaps back to the present and I peer up at my silent companion. I focus on the steady crunch of snow beneath our hooves to keep my mind centered on the here and now. I did not want to go back down that road. It was much too loud.
