Family. It was such a weird concept in Eden’s mind too. It had just been her and mom… forever. Forever and ever, and now even Eden was alone. Bane had said she’d catch up, she’d arrive at some point. Eden just had to go. Her sides had ached, but it didn’t matter. Things had been decided, and she threw herself into the sea without looking back.
Eden was measured, calculated, careful. Look before you leap, but once you do, never look back. That’s what’s in her heart and in her gut. Eden trusts herself more than anything else. Can’t rely on anyone else, so she never learned how. Maybe it comes down to trust issues. That would make sense.
A breeze kicked up, ruffling Eden’s mane. It brought the scent of someone else, drifting from the north. Softly, her head raised, ears flickering forward. A ghost, and maybe she always would be. A ghost, and maybe she always had been. Softly she sighed, looking at the stranger… through the stranger? It took Eden a few moments to focus her gaze.
Okay, yeah. There was someone there. Eden’s gaze is gentle, processing what she’d been asked. Green eyes settling on the woman’s face, not missing a beat. “Not lost, just resting.” She settles a bit over her hind legs, sighing softly. “It’s been a long swim.” Eden looks tired, admittedly. She’s still soggy from the sea, and the breeze wasn’t helping. That was okay, though. She was alive. She’d made it.
