Since the Council of Originals has been disbanded, it’s becoming clear that they did – er – do stuff after all. A number of nasty groups which were kept at bay by the council’s policing are now terrorising the intergalactic community.
The Great Dragon Migration
There are as many species of dragon as there are kinds of insects; some harmless, some extremely dangerous. Like birds, most dragons migrate between the seasons, but the council has traditionally intervened to ‘encourage’ them to use unoccupied routes. Since the council is no longer here, the dragons have begun their migration – right through Shaman.
- You can refer to the dragon migration in your posts as either a positive thing (for dragon enthusiasts and nature observers) or a negative thing (for those having their houses trampled and their hair singed).
- The Crown is advertising a new type of job: Dragon Wrangler. These brave folks work hard to try and keep Shaman safe during the dragon migration.
- Expect to see more dragon-themed events and rewards when you use the impetus board.
- Submit new species of dragon on the updates board. These will go on the geography page and can be used by anyone in their posts.
- Dragons may crash into your threads at random. Sorry in advance.
Space Pirates
If you thought Sea Pirates were bad, they got nothin’ on the terrors who roam the skies. Space Pirates are disjointed groups who have commandeered some form of space and/or time travelling vehicle and use it… well, much the same way you would expect pirates to use it. Some have sleek spaceships, but most use rickety old steampunk style ships which are as likely to crash into your village as they are to loot it.
- You can refer to Space Pirates in your posts and you can have a character become a Space Pirate or be captured by them as desired. Space Pirates can move between worlds without needing Hop Loops, although they do travel much slower.
- Bounty-hunters and police-type characters can add Space Pirates to their wanted lists.
- Some Space Pirates have been hired by Gwythr’s new Alliance to help track down some of the fairies on the wanted list.
- Expect to see Space Pirate events when you use the impetus board.
The Intergalactic Illuminati
This organisation of scientists was previously banned by the Council of Originals and had to go underground. Now that the council is gone, they have emerged and walk with their heads held high. The Intergalactic Illuminati aim seek scientific advancement for its own sake and will cross any moral boundary in the search for new knowledge. They are best known for kidnapping people and animals in order to experiment on them. The Intergalactic Illuminati travel between worlds on their ship, picking up people to experiment on and then dropping them off again when they’re done with them – if they survive.
One thing the I.I. have been experimenting with recently is gene splicing. Specifically, they want to see if they can cross-breed different species to produce a whole new species.
- A new item has been added to the shop: Illuminati Abduction. When used on a character, this character will be abducted by the I.I. and impregnated with a gene-spliced baby. One half will be your character’s genes, the other half could be… anything (randomised by stat-giver). Resultant offspring will be fairies, but are likely to have physical traits representing their other – er – parent. This item can be used on any kind of character, male or female.
- A new item has been added to the shop: Gene-Spliced Familiar. This can be used to give a character a familiar which is a genetic mix between any two ordinary Earth animals (e.g. a giraffe x monkey).
- You can refer to the I.I in your posts and have a character become one or be captured by them as desired. The I.I. can move between worlds without needing Hop Loops, although they do travel much slower.
