The Rules
  • There will be no fraternizing with enemies. If you put yourself knowingly in danger, don't expect a rescue.
  • We are only as strong as our weakest link. See to it that you are getting stronger in some skill that is useful, whether it is battling, recruiting, charming, etc.
  • The King and Queen have final say in all matters.

He loved that his mares were so strong and independent. Harlequin would never be tamed and he was okay with that. It was part of her charm. He didn't know exactly why she challenged Geneva for the title but he did remember when she teased him about making her queen at his side not long after he brought her to the Desert. He'd told her then that he didn't make those decisions. He loved each of his mares and he wouldn't put any of them on a pedestal above the others. They were all important to him. He saw the bruise on Harlequin's shoulder and his lips tugged into a scowl. He hated that either of them had gotten hurt. He wanted to keep them safe above all else but he knew they would make their claim in some form. The lead mare of his herd didn't need to be the strongest, but she needed to be the one the other mares could look to for guidance.

Maybe in time they would all look to each other, each bringing something to the table. Geneva was kind and liked to take care of others. Harlequin was determined and ambitious. She had a spirit that couldn't be rivaled. Vihaan was wise beyond her years and had so much inner strength. She brought hope to others who couldn't see it before. Primrose was gentle and not so easy to trust others. She was the word of caution when it was needed and the innocence that could keep others pure. Zubeia was the one who made decisions that others couldn't make themselves, the hard decisions. She chose the right path, even when it wasn't the easy one. Cain waited and watched carefully as Harlequin took in Geneva's words. They stared each other over for the longest time before Harlequin spoke.

Cain arched a brow at her response, not sure if he was completely convinced. He knew better than to believe Harlequin would give in that easily. She probably had something up her sleeve. She was just biding her time. She said she would steal him away another time and he smirked. "And I'll be your willing participant." He teased with a wink, reaching over to lip at her mane. Then she asked Geneva what she had in mind and he turned his dark gaze back on the bay mare, wondering himself what she was thinking. He was open to suggestions. Geneva started thinking aloud, saying they could split the roles of a lead mare. When she asked what he thought, he turned his pensive gaze back to the black and white dancer. "Is that what you truly want, Harlequin, to help with shelter and food? Cause I had you more figured for something more...chaotic." His lips twitched, wanting her input.
