Laughter rolled from the stallion like the waves in which they danced. It had been too long since he had moved this this way with someone who had called to his very soul. The echoing laughter that came from his companion was truly a joy and a reason for the world to continue to spin. Grinning, he looked back at the black pelted mare just up the beach and snorted with continued amusement. Just as Shararat’s glee with their reunion was beautiful, so was the other’s refusal. It was her choice. The stallion shrugged off her refusal and threw his entire attention into the steps he placed with Shararat, watching her body to anticipate her movements so he could follow suit.


Ailill let out a snort of surprise as Shararat jumped towards him and he took a hasty step back. Just too slow to keep most of their distance, he gently pressed his breast against her’s, neck close enough to brush her mane, and nose gently on her shoulder. He did not press against her hard, merely light guiding touches of a gentleman leading a lady in a waltz. He moved forward and back, each change of direction signaled with a brush of his nose or a pressure from his chest. Careful concentration was on his hooves, determined not to misstep and to give her plenty of room so their legs would not get entangled. Each change continued to be guided, he turned them on the steps, gracefully sweeping them across their sandy ballroom, mane and tails serving as formal attire for their masquerade.

Though his spirit continued to yearn to dance amongst the waves and into the skies, his breaking started to labor and at last he stepped away from his partner, bowing low with his head next to an outstretched hoof. Shararat, you are a wonder to behold. It is amazing to see you again! I am so happy you remembered the dance!
