The ventilators story is a real hoax. A WSJ article yesterday reports over 67% of patients who are intubated and placed on ventilators do not survive. There is also long standing evidence when older folks do survive this drastic care suffer severe mental distress and poor quality of life. My instructions to health care power of attorney says that if faced with that alternative I will take pallitative care.
